I’ll get someone to call page 2.
61 people volunteered to be a Buddy
43 people requested a Buddy
We had a handful of people who said they were having trouble shopping
(aren’t we all)
But only 2 people requested Transportation assistance
We will follow up
3 people told us they didn’t have access to the internet
But a lot of people described trouble with cameras or audio or Zoom
Referred to the Geek Squad
Updates to the Directory
referred to Rayna Hamre and she’s already working on that.
Tax Day
Except it’s not (July 15)
I got my State refund today
Please support the church financially, if you can.

2) Message
Isolation
We only have 3 people who say they don’t have access to the internet
But we had 57 people who said they didn’t attend online worship
That’s a third of the folks we contacted
Like I said the Geek Squad will be following up
With technical issues
But I’m worried about isolation
Not the same as feeling lonely
But has it’s own negative health consequences
The church is community
The number one service we provide is community
Spirituality is the content
But it’s really the community that is the most beneficial.
So how do we stay together as a community?
I think that’s really the question/challenge for this time
Zoom programs
And I’d like to see more that aren’t meetings but just hanging out.
That’s why I keep talking about the church calendar
Facebook – that’s why I’m here
And other postings
Buddy Program
And you don’t have to be an official buddy to pick up the phone
Send a card to someone in the church
Would you like a penpal
Place an ad in the Advance
Or contact a parent and see if their child would like to write to you.
Advance

Makes a connection for yourself
And reaches someone else looking for a connection.
I’ll see you tomorrow 1pm
