For the past few months, a team of us have been working on creating a new website for the church. An attractive, informative, “on-brand” website is an important piece of the outreach efforts we’ll be undertaking this year to grow our congregation. I’m excited to share the new website with you, and the public, but it will take a few more weeks before we’re ready to launch.
Our Board of Trustees hired Mat Steury to do the architectural work on the site. He accomplished the bulk of his work during July. Our goal was to have a user-friendly website that is simple to navigate and easy to keep up-to-date with current information. I’m pleased that Mat created just what we asked for. Throughout August and still for the next few weeks, Barbara Allen, John Bergquist, Chadie Faust, and I, have been reviewing Mat’s work, suggesting refinements, and populating the new site with text and photos, much of which we copied from the old site. We’re also learning how to add new pages and information as we need to, and considering how to coordinate the website with the church’s other information sources, such as the newsletter and church calendar.
It’s a big job, but an exciting outreach piece that will have a big impact. Look for the grand unveiling sometime later in September!
