Your newsletter looks a little different this week and you can expect to see additional changes coming over the next few weeks. Here’s what’s going on.
For more than a year now, our church website has been updated only minimally due to a complicated design. With the website not pulling its weight we’ve been using our newsletter to carry information that should really appear on the website. This has made our newsletter very long and filled with articles that repeat for multiple weeks.
Several months ago, our Board hired Mat Steury to work on re-designing our website. By the end of this month, we hope to launch a more flexible and user-friendly website. When the new website is complete, information about on-going programs at the church will be moved out of the newsletter and on to the website where they can be updated, as necessary, by the folks responsible for the program. Our newsletter space will be reserved for announcements of activities occurring that week at the church, or for articles that are really “news” meaning new information, or announcements of new programs, or new events.
You’ll see some of the changes starting this week. This will continue to be a work-in-progress until the new website is officially launched and we sort out exactly what kind of information should appear where. Your feedback, suggestions, patience, and help, are always appreciated.
