The exciting news at church this week is the arrival of Jacki Weber, our new Religious Education Director.  She started Wednesday.  I’m very excited about her ideas, plans, and dreams for our program.  You will be, too.  You’ll have a chance to meet Jacki and welcome her this Sunday.  And look further down in this newsletter for a personal introduction from Jacki and a welcome from our Board President, Barbara Allen.

I also want to give you a heads up about plans for a Volunteer Recruitment campaign in August.  Many of our committees need some extra help, and the summer break between church years is a convenient time for people to step away from work they’ve done for awhile and maybe step in to something new.  There’s a place for you!

During the month of August we will give time during our worship services to hear testimonials from church members about the work they do for the church and to invite others to join them.  The campaign will culminate in a Volunteer Fair, with tables and clipboards, after worship on August 27 and September 3 (timed for Labor Day).  If you’d like to give a testimonial and a personal invitation for others to join you in your church work, contact me, and I’ll schedule you for an August Sunday.
