UUFKC Welcomes New Members

On Sunday, April 24, our Fellowship was excited to welcome eight new members.  Seven new members were able to attend the ceremony in person and sign the membership book; one additional member was not available that morning.  She will sign the book later, when possible.  Wilma Goodloe of the Member Care committee helped me conduct the ceremony and greet the new members.

It’s always a happy occasion to welcome new members into our community.  Community is the core of our purpose.  As our UUFKC Mission states, which I share during my Welcome every Sunday, “We are a welcoming, diverse, spiritual community“.  Adding members to our community is who we are and also the meaning of who we are.

At the end of the ceremony all of the members, old and new, said together:

“Together we share the rights and responsibilities of membership.  Together we share the past and the future of this faith.  Together we lead this community and are led.  Together we minister from our strengths, and are ministered to in our needs.  Together we are in Fellowship.”
