Raining and Voting

Ah, February in Los Angeles in an election year!  The streets are flooded with water, the mailboxes are flooded with campaign materials.  Have you voted yet?  I did.  I was pleased to find a ballot drop-off box in front of the library at Moorpark and Whitsett – though I had to hop over a wide river in the gutter to get to it.  I love that the ballot-tracking app confirmed that my ballot had been received and counted a couple of days later.

The rain is a blessing to perennially drought-adjacent Los Angeles.  The election is a blessing, too.  The democratic process is one of our faith principles.  The ability to have a say in electing our leaders and deciding important issues is precious.  Church members will have the same privilege of self-governance at our congregational meeting this Sunday.  Stay dry, and may your vote be counted.
