At the start of the pandemic, in the summer of 2020, I started keeping a diary of the books I read. I finish a book then write up a short essay about it. I write a plot summary and add any thoughts I have about the writing. Then I post the entry on my website. The diary helps me keep track of, and remember details of, books I’ve read, and share my reading with friends. You can read all of my book diary entries here.
Mostly I read nineteenth and early twentieth century novels. I read some non-fiction, particularly related to ministry. I read some contemporary gay fiction. I like to read books that friends recommend. If you’re curious whether I’ve read a particular book you can use the search function on the webpage (scroll down to below the list of books to find the search box).
For 2023, it turns out I’ve read twenty-six books, the low end of average for me.
