We have a couple of busy days this weekend at UUCSC. Most of what I’ll mention here is covered further down in this newsletter. Here’s what’s happening…
If you’re reading this newsletter Saturday morning, it’s not too late to join us at church at 10am for the last of the three budget hearings hosted by our Board and Finance Committee.
Sunday at 10am, our regular worship is given over to our annual Music Sunday. John Bergquist will present a short homily and lead the program. After worship, Reid Swanson and I will give a short presentation to launch the church’s Congregational Life Drive, a virtual “filing cabinet” designed to make church documents more accessible. That will be followed by our continuing series of after-worship discussions led by Rochelle Lamm, called “Sanctuary Reflections.”
Sunday afternoon there’s a lunch at St. Matt’s (11031 Camarillo Street) to say goodbye to Rev. Stephanie Jaeger who founded the North Hollywood Home Alliance which holds the Tuesday “Drop-In” program at UUCSC. Rev. Stephanie is moving to her next ministry in New York. Sunday afternoon at 3pm, the North Hollywood Interfaith Food Pantry celebrates its 40th anniversary with a benefit gala. That’s at 4390 Colfax Avenue. And wrapping up an exciting weekend, at 7pm at our church, the Jazzanova group offers a free concert of jazz tunes and a chance to support this great program that offers healing through music.
I’ll be at all these events. I hope to see you there! or there! or there!
