Stewardship Plans

The kick-off is still a month away, but we’ve already begun planning for this year’s Stewardship Campaign.  I’m excited about our plans.  I hope you’ll start thinking about how you might be supportive of the campaign, and our church community.

Our campaign will officially begin with our Stewardship Sunday on February 26.  I will preach about the spiritual aspect of giving.  That’s the same day as our congregational meeting, which will take place after worship.

Church committees are already developing their budget requests for next year’s budget, due on February 1.  We’re encouraging our committee’s to get creative in their planning.  Projects that are a little special, a little different, and maybe a little beyond your normal operations, are all welcome.  During February the Finance Committee will create a draft budget based on these requests.  The draft budget will be shared at the congregational meeting along with other information about the Stewardship Campaign.

This year’s campaign will be conducted through congregation-wide person-to-person conversations.  We want to hear what you think and feel about the church, what you love, what you want more of, what brought you to church and keeps you involved.  A team of trained church members will conduct the conversations.  Each interviewer will meet with about 4 individuals or pledging units throughout the month of March.

The campaign ends with a Celebration Sunday on March 26, with a party at church after worship.
