Source of our dreams
Cause of our hopes
Fount of our imaginations and visions for the future
In the dark and cold of our lives
We may feel a chill that has nothing to do with winter
But is the trembling anxiety of change
stiffening our bodies and tightening our skin
Our fear rises so quickly
Trust rises so slowly
Give us comfort
Release our worry
Fill us with the courage required
For carried by the love eternal
From which all creation flows
Our faith teaches
That we are moved, inevitably toward joy
May we hear the good news
The glad announcement
And say yes to the divine becoming
Let us take our place in Bethlehem
Beside the manger
In the darkest day of the year
May we see the great light
And not turn away, shading our eyes
But kneel before the gift offered to us
And together make each bright day look more and more like the new world we seek
The spirit of justice
The community of love
The promise of peace
