For our Sunday worship on January 21, we will be hosting a “Bring a Friend to Church” Sunday. Have you got a friend (or two) who might enjoy our community? Think about inviting them to join you and check us out. My sermon that day, “The Work of the Church is to Be” will emphasize the importance of belonging to community as a core element of physical, spiritual, and social health. It will be an intentionally visitor-friendly day.
Many people are suffering today from lack of community. Don’t be afraid to share the good experience you’ve found at your church: the friends, the chance to help others, the intellectual stimulation, the beautiful music, the caring community, the fun. The good news of church growth is that a lot of people are curious about church; they’re just waiting for a nudge.
